On November 23rd the Rome Historical Society hosted the second annual “Christmas Poster” Contest. This year the title of the contest was "Holidays in Rome" and the contest was open to all kindergarten through 4th grade students in Rome.
RFA's Advertising & Design class participated in the 2016 "Doodle 4 Google" annual contest. Doodle 4 Google is an annual contest open to students in grades K-12. Students are invited to create their own doodle for the chance to have it featured on the Google homepage.
1982 RFA graduate, Audrey Cupples was the special guest speaker on November 29th at RFA. A successful professional musician, she spoke to music students about her career and what it takes to be a musician.
RFA choral students who were in the Area-All State Festival held at Whitesboro High School on November 18th and November 19th.
Strough/RFA students traveled to Syracuse on November 19th to run with Chase Coleman, a Corcoran high school student with autism who was pushed to the ground at a cross-country race in October. Hundreds came out to support and encourage Coleman to keep running. The story hit the national news in October when it happened.
Ten RFA students were awarded NYS scholarships for Academic Excellence for exceptional grades on certain Regents exams. Congratulations!
On Thursday, November 10th four RFA students visited King's Kids Christian Pre-School (Rome Christian Center) to assist pre school students in learning sign language. The RFA students who attended were Madison Cudhea (11th grade), Lucia Davis (11th grade), Nocyia Logan (10th grade) and Jordan Accuri (10th grade).
